Red Card.

Sizzix Original Die - Frame, Lace Heart.

This garland was inspired by the Cricut Blog Valentine's Day Garland post. I used a Sizzix die instead of a Cricut cartridge. The hearts where die cut then stapled together in a row.

Table Decoration Recipe

White, red and black card.

Sizzix Original Die - Locket, Heart.

Clear acetate.

I die cut 2 sets of the heart locket and glued them together at the top of the heart I then added a stand which I made made from clear acetate.

Red card.

Sizzix Original Die - Cupid.

These cupids can be made two ways. You can cut the red card into a long strip and fold it up then die cut it making sure the card is just short of the edge of die so the cupids are joined. Or you can cut two individual cupids and glue them together but don't glue the legs this will act as a stand.

To make the ghost charm I enlarged the Halloween image, placed the frosted shrink plastic on top of the image and traced over it using a Sharpie pen. Cut around the image then shrank it.

I discovered this idea on the Split Coast Stampers site, it lead me to this blog My Creative Place, Paola has some fantastic paper crafting ideas.

A scrapling is the left over piece from a square card. I use a piece of A4 white hammered card score it down the middle, then cut to a measurement of 14.5cm square. The left over piece is your scrapling.

Your scrapling should measure 6.5cm x 29.6cm, when folded it will measure 6.5cm x 14.8cm.

Open the scrapling out and on the top edge punch a decorative edge. I used a Martha Stewart border punch Scallop Dot.

Using your score board, (I used an Eazi Score Board) line up the folded edge of your scrapling to the edge of your board and score a line on the Box 1 line this is 2cms wide, flip the scrapling over and score again on the Box 1 line.

Turn you scrapling around to the punched edge and score a line on the Box 2 line this is 2.5cm wide, flip the scrapling over and score again on the Box 1 line.

Trim away the scored line on the unpunched side of the scrapling.

You are now ready to decorate your scrapling.

To decorate the front I have used a piece of card measuring 9.5cm x 6cm.

The design paper measures 9cm x 5.5cm. I have used a Doodlebug Designs Inc paper.

The cellophane bag measures 11cm x 6cm. You can use any bags just cut them down to size.

Fill you bag with goodies, place inside your scrappling, fold down the top and staple together. Then add your stamped image I have used the Nutcrafters Pink Frosting stamp set.

I stamped the leaves onto white card using memento dye ink. I then die cut it and left it in the die, then I applied Tim Holtz distress inks over the top of it. This will give you a white border.

Hints and Tips

I only had one green Copic marker to colour the tee shirt on Coco. If you want to add shading, after adding the base colour let the area dry completely, then go over it where you would like the shading to be with the same colour it doesn't blend so it acts like a shadow. You may have to go over it several times to make the shadow dark enough.

I have been on holiday with my family we went to Lagos in Portugal for a weeks sunshine. Here are some photos of my husband and children taken while we where on holiday.

Now onto business. I don't know where to begin so I'll just get straight to the point Katie and Colette from Nutcrafters are relaunching their Nutcrafters Challenge Blog and have asked me to join their design team as the DT Coordinator how fabulous is that I am so excited as you know I love their designs they are so beautifully drawn and easy to colour in, and I love the fact there is always a stamp or image to use for the current season.

I chose the Cuttlebug Spots and Dots embossing folder because it looks like raindrops in puddles. Glossy Accents where added to the splashes to give them a wet look.

Hints and Tips

You could use these straws for a summer themed party. When making the straw toppers cut two bugs out but decorate only one of them glue them together and attach to a tab to slide onto the straw.

Hints and Tips

When applying self adhesive gems I use a scapel to take them off the sheet they come on and then apply them to the card with the scapel, this helps you to fix them in the right position without applying them to your self and loosing all their stickiness.

When making a white on white card remember there are lots of shades of white, add lots of glitter and use layers of embossing it all makes the card stand out and not look flat and boring.

Wild Card Cricut

I have been looking to buy a Cricut machine for about three years now but I didn't want to spend all that money. About two weeks ago Cutting Edge Crafts website finally had it at the price I wanted to pay a Cricut Original for £129.95 so I just had to have it. What a fantastic machine it is boy am I having fun with it. To make sure I use it often I have decided to enter the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog every week. So here is my first creation.

The Slapstick Stamp Treatin' Witch is rather large, I don't own an acrylic block large enough to mount it on so I used one of my cutting plates off my big shot to mount it on.

Hints and Tips

If you don't have buttons to match your project you can always make your own. Cut a circle of shrink plastic, punch two holes in the middle of the circle and colour it in, then shrink.
