You Scream I Scream

This card was created for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  This weeks is #107 and the theme is Paper Patch.

To create this card I used Stamps: Penny Black Hedgy Flavour, Ice on the Pond.  Woodware Ice Cream Parfait.  Cardstock: White hammered, light teal.  Papers: DP Doodlebug Designs Inc Summer assortment. Pink, brown, red.  Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black.  Colouring: Copic markers Hedgy E000/R20/C3/C5/E25.  Froggy YG23/YG25/R20/R00.  Ice cream E31/E34/BG10/BG11.  Light teal marker.  Dies: Sizzix Originals large Cupcake and Ice Cream.  Punch: Woodware Square.  Martha Stewart border punch Dripping Goo.  Embellishments: Papermania adhesive crystals.

Hints and Tips
To make the patchwork I punched out squares of DP paper and stuck them all down onto a piece of card, then drew a zig zag edge around each square.  After doing all of this I realized it would look just the same if I had  kept the piece of DP paper in once piece and just drew squares on it.

Summer Flowers

This card was created for A Gem of a Challenge and Sir Stampalot Challenge.  I decided to combine the two challenges because they work so well together.  A Gem of a Challenge, challenge is #5 Ribbon and Buttons, Sir Stampalot's challenge is "Punch It".

Hints and Tips
To make the flowers really stand out punch them first, run through an embossing folde,r then lightly rub and ink pad over the embossed area.

Strawberries and Chocolate

This card was created for DieCut Dreams Challenge.  This weeks challenge is #53 Strawberry & Chocolate Colour Combo.  I thought my Magnolia Strawberry Tilda would fit the bill perfectly.  The problem with this weeks challenge is the title, it keeps putting images of chocolate and strawberries in my head and it doesn't help that the DP is called Chocolate truffle yummy.

To create this card I used Stamps: Magnolia Strawberry Tilda, Swirl, Pair of Strawberries.  Cardstock: White hammered, green, brown, red.  Papers: DP Doodlebug Designs Inc Chocolate Truffle.  Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Bamboo Leaves, Angel Pink.  Colourings: Copic markers Skin E000/E00/E11/R20.  Hair E25/E49/E53/E59.  Strawberry stalk G99.  Flower R00/R20.  Strawberries R29/R22/R24/G40/G82.  Sakura gel pens Glaze 800, Stardust 700.  Dies: Sizzix Extended Cuts Swirly.  Punches: Fiskars flower.  L-Em.com stamen.  Woodward flower, leaf.  Embellishments: Papermania adhesive shimmer dots.

Hints and Tips
Try to bring some of the design on the DP paper onto your image.  For this card I have copied the swirls on the DP paper by using a die cut swirl and also by stamping swirls around Tilda.

I'm off for some chocolate and strawberries now, hope the next challenge isn't food inspired.

Road Hog

I created this card for Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  Week 105 a sketch by Janneke.  I decided to make a card for a man seeing as it is nearly father's day.  I didn't make the card for a father because I have already made my card for my dad.  The sketch has a lot of layers so I have coloured the image in one colour so it stands out from the layers.

To create this card I used Stamps: Penny Black Auto Hog.  Cardstock: White hammered, brown.  Papers: DP Dovecraft Masculine.  Inks: Memento Rich Cocoa.  Colouring: Copic markers Prickles E25/E43.  Skin E000/E00/E11/R20.  Dies: Cuttlebug embossing folder Spots and Dots.

Hints and Tips
If you are making a card which has lots of layers on it, it is a good idea to use Design Papers that come in a mixed pack with all the same theme or colour.

Blowing Bubbles

Well I have managed to do another post today, thought I'd  make up for lost time.  The only thing is when I start card making I don't know when to stop.  On to the card, this card was created for Just Magnolia.  It's a special monthly challenge Lace borders.

To create this card I used Stamps: Magnolia Tilda Blowing Bubbles, Bubbles.  Cardstock: White hammered, silver glittered.  Papers: DP Papermania Henbury Lane.  Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black.  Stayzon Jet Black.  Colouring: Copic markers Skin E000/E00/E11/R20, Hair E35/YR23/Y23, Wings and bubbles BG000.  Sakura gel pens Stardust 700/744, Glaze 800.  Embellishments: Acetate, white lace, Deco Art Glamour dust crystal.

Hints and Tips
When sticking something transparent onto your card cover it with clear glitter to make it sparkle this also hides the pop up dot underneath it.

With Love at Christmas

Well I finally got around to making a card this week.  The children may have been off for one week but it has taken me another to get the house straight.  Right down to business this card was created for Winter Wonderland.  The challenge is Love at Christmas.  I thought seeing as the challenge is love lets see if I can use some of my Valentine's stash.

To create this card I used Stamps: Penny Black The Wonder.  Papermania Sweet Nothings.  Cardstock: White hammered, red.  Papers: DP Dovecraft Tis the Season.  Green.  Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black.  Versamark watermark.  Colouring: Copic markers Tree branch YG67/YG25.  Mice E31/E35/R20.  Sakura gel pens Souffle 950, Stardust 712.  Dies: Sizzix Frame Lace Heart.  Sizzix Sizzlit Stocking.  Punches: Martha Stewart Pine branch.  Embellishments: Christmas ribbon, Papermania self adhesive crystals, Deco Art glamour dust crystal, Heat it Up embossing powder snowflake.

Hints and Tips
This challenge was love at Christmas, so if you just add hearts to part of your design it fits the bill without buying a Christmas love stamp.

Hot Summer's Day

Hi hope you have all had a lovely bank holiday.  This has been my first chance to make a card this week as it is half term so I have been busy with the children.  This card was created for Just Magnolia Challenge Blog.  Week 57 Hot and Spicy.  I thought I would go for hot weather in England so I chose Tilda with an ice cream at the sea side.

To create this card I used Stamps: Magnolia Pier Background, Tilda with Ice Cream.  Cardstock: White hammered, pink, pale brown.  Papers: DP Free CD with Complete Cardmaking The So Sweet collection.  Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Bahama Blue.  Colouring: Copic markers Background Wood E25/E35/C5.  Rope E31/E35. Sea B21/BG72.  Quayside and boat C3/C5.  Tilda Skin E000/E00/E11/R20.  Hair E29/E31/E25.  Derwent Inktense watercolour pencils.  Sakura gel pens Glaze 821/805.  Dies: Sizzix Orginals Ovals.  Punches: Martha Stewart Dripping Goo.

Hints and Tips
I wanted a border to match my dripping ice cream so I used a Halloween punch, some times you have to think outside the box and used dies and punches from different seasons.
